Your concert at the Grand Old Opry Music Hall of Fame mid May 2008, made our day and introduced us to your music. Such a pleasure to see people in the audience enjoying the music so much too.
May you both keep playing forever!

Mike,
It was great to hear you play the Mother's Day Show at the Coal Miner's Jamboree. Several "old timers" there at Stearns had tears in their eyes and not from "bad playing". NO - They said listening to you took them back to when they had heard Acuff live many decades earlier. It took them back. Despite your slights - like leaving me off the credits on your CD - LOL, I am one of your biggest fans. Really! I weight around 225 now. Regards my friend,

Mike and Charlie, really enjoyed your shows in Norris,Tn. last sunday. Was great to hear some of the old Roy Acuff songs again, and you folks did them up in fine shape! Sure held my attention.
Hope to get a chance to see you again real soon. I wish I didn't live so far away. Real happy to see Oswald's Dobro put to use this way, instead of ending up in some museum where it would never be heard again. What a great instrument it is. Keep up the good work. Jim Warren

Charlie sorry to hear about the accident you were involved in, hope you are feeling better and that all the sore spots heal up real quick. Wish you could have made the Resonator Guitar Contest with Mike but could understand your concern about getting back to Nashburg. May the Lord heal and comfort you through this time of need.Randy

Tickled that you have your own site and that I found it. When are you coming to play in Missouri. I live about 50 miles from Branson. I got to see Oswald at Boxcar Willie`s theater twice in the early 90`s and he was still great. Mike, I met you last fall at the Homecoming and want to say thanks for the End Of The World lesson. I`m glad you 2 are out there entertaining, your one of the few acts left that show us how a show is supposed to be done!!! You actually entertain, not just do one song after another. Don`t forget the banjo and great old jokes, people tend to want the dobro (at least they do me this way as I also play both)and forget the other good stuff that there is too. I wish we could see more entertainers like you, and they are out there, but the mainstream is not forgiving enough for people that aren`t "shiny" enough. Keep up the good "work"----Allen.

Mike Webb and Charlie Collins,
I absolutely love your website. It is designed beautifully. It takes a lot of talent to create such a wonderful website.
I want to thank you both again for taking the time to help me in doing interviews and sending photos for my project on the history of the steel guitar and dobro at the University of Maryland. Indeed, Oswald was one of the very most important pioneers of the dobro (acoustic steel guitar) in the 1940's and beyond. I hope to help get Oswald as well as Clell Summey (Acuff's earlier dobro player) both into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame within a couple years. Between Summey's work on the early Acuff records like "Steel Guitar Chimes" to Oswald's legendary versions of "Wabash Cannonball", "Fireball Mail", etc., Summey and Oswald are both among the real major pioneers of the steel guitar. One thing is for certain: my future book on the steel guitar will, without bias, include the contributions of ALL the major pioneers and the most important minor pioneers of the steel guitar. Thus, no matter what route others may take, I would feel like I was doing a terrible injustice to not include Oswald and Summey as major pioneers along with McAuliffe, Wiggins, Byrd, Bob Foster, etc. in my book.
Sincerely,
Jack Hamlett
